Hi,

I received a collection letter two months ago. Thus, I checked my credit report immediately to find it the collection agency listed on my credit report. I was not sure of this debt. In fact I believe that this debt is not mine. Thus, I sent a debt validation letter to the collection agency CMRRR, and they have not responded yet. I got back the return receipt within 15 days. I reported them to the BBB, AG of Texas, and the association they belong to.They have yet to respond to anyone. What else can I do to have this collection validated or removed?

Thanks

Hi Ainsley,

You can try by sending another validation letter through certified mail, requesting a return receipt (CMRRR). If they fail to validate the debt this time too, you can dispute this debt with the credit bureaus, so that this gets removed from your credit report.

You will get sample validation letter with this community. If you want you an also use the sample dispute letter available with this community. You just need to change the texting according to your circumstances.

Thanks,

Aaron
