TransUnion is making me crazy!

Five months ago I sent all three CB's letters requesting that they validate some collection accounts that are not mine. I sent a copy of my license as proof of address.

Experian and Equifax investigated and deleted the accounts within 30 days, sent me a new credit report etc.

TransUnion has been a nightmare! They requested three addtional forms of address verification. I sent them a utility bill, canceled checks and a bank statement, which were all clear as day.

They sent me yet another letter saying, sorry, one of my proofs of address was illegible and that I need to send something else.

Is this a joke?? They wait 30 days to send each letter and I am unfairly being denied credit. Why are they doing this???

File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and your states Attorney general, state that you have provided sufficient proof of identification and they are refusing to investigate into the matter. Send copies of these complaints and your previous letters ALONG with the identification that you sent before to Trans Union, this should get them to budge. You may want to include copies of the letters from Experian and Equifax that stated that the debt was removed, that may help as well.

‭Hi Jess and Boxinabag,

‎The credit bureaus are not supposed to validate colelction accounts. You can send a validation letter only to the collection agency, and not the credit bureaus. You can send verification letter to the credit bureaus.

‎Thus, send validation letters to the collection agencies through certified mail, requesting a return receipt.

‎Thanks,

‎Aaron

report transunion to your AG.

write a letter of dispute directly to the Collection Agency listed on your credit report.
