can you be responsible for court summons that was never delivered to you and the court says they left in my door

Hi Trina,

Yes. The creditor need not serve you the summons face to face. He can leave it at your door. There is no such rule that requires to creditor to serve you in person.

Actually, service is what the court will accept and in many places this is woefully random. I would go to court if you can and if the date is past then you need to try and advance the case and dispute the service.

from what the OP is saying it seems that they never saw any summons. You can leave it in the door or in some cases mail it. however this sounds like gutter service where the sleaze bag throws it away.
