need to know if you can leave the uk if your in debt will they come after me

probably it will toll (that means wait) until you return. Do you plan to leave forever? this is a us site so I can't be responsible for UK law.

Hi Michelle,

If you leave behind debt in your country, while you are away the debt will toll. That is for the time being when you are away, the Statute of limitations (SOL) will be frozen. However, when you will return, the SOL will start in due course. Then you may get sued for the debt. However, this debt will not appear on your new credit report in a new country.
