Hi,
Our hospital bill balance is $2500. We've been paying $200 per month. However, I get a call from a collection agency saying they are now handling our account, even though our $200 check was cashed 20 days prior to the call.
The hospital says the $200 is not enough, that the bill should have been paid in full. There was also NO warning (phone or mail) that they were sending us to collections.
Can they send us to collections like this?
yes, they can send this to collections as they like. doesn't make it smart. I would look into Hippa letters to collection agencies
