I quit paying on a chapter 13 bankrupcy. It included my car. I figured the bank would come and repossess it. They never did.At the same time the bank was either bought out or they just went out of business. Anyway, the car is in my driveway now, 13 years later! It doesn't run. It is a 1991 corvette. I would like to fix it and get it back in good condition, but I don't want to invest money in it if it gets taken from me. I would like to get a title for it, but don't know how to get one. What should I do?

I don’t have much information regarding this issue. You can consult with a Bankruptcy Attorney and get advice from him/her.

Do you still have the title to the car?..or, did it stay with the bank that went out of business? You can go to your nearest DMV and try to get a copy of it and explain the situation reguarding the vehicle. What ever did happen to the title, the DMV would beable to tack it down somewhere.
