Hello everyone... Anybody ever heard of NCR based in Lawrenceville, GA? How about Sea Ray? How about Diverse? I had someone from this NCR contact me about a 6 year old debt, and, stupid me, went ahead and paid them with my fiance's debit card without thinking because they claim I was about to be served with court papers. AIS was the original debt collector who, in turn, told me they sold it to Diverse, who told me they sold it to Sea Ray, who has the person handling the database calling me back on Monday due to her being out of the office. I called NCR and asked them to cancel the debit, and I would mail them a postal money order. Stanley there claims he did but I'm just not sure how legit they are or are not. HELP!!! Anyone have any info?

Your situation is really very complicated. You can consult with an experienced attorney in this regard. I hope he/she will guide you in a better way to resolve your problem.

Thanks so much. I actually traced them down from the beginning and discovered that they are indeed legitimate and had them void the transaction from the bank. (Just a test to see whether or not they were a scam). Now I will pay them through postal money order in very small payments instead of all at once simply because it upsets me as to how they handled themselves. They"re lucky I'm paying them at all!
