A CA just reported to my credit report on a account from 2008. Now I have called the CA to ask about it since I had no clue about the account. After speaking to the lady for a couple of minutes and getting some facts about the matter. She informs me that she can not send me anything or do anything because they are not able to collect in my state. She said the only thing she can do is take a payment from me and mark the account paid in full. What do I do now? Dispute it, send a DV or DFP? The amount is so little $100 max, and I just want it off my credit report. Trying to buy a house and need to clean up some things

I am having the same problem. They will not validate the debt or remove it and they can't send me information about it. I even contacted the original creditor and haven't ever got anything abouth the debt. I disputed it with all 3 credit bureaus and they say its verified. Any help would be appreciated.
