I was sued five years ago for a 13k medical judgment. Just recently I have been trying to resolve this issue. Every time I contact the Hospital which sued me they either claim to have no information on my account or that it has been sold to debt collectors. the debt collector they referred me to do not have the debt either. I have tried disputing the judgment several times with the credit agencies it is still there. Am I still obligated to pay the debt under the circumstances? How can I fix this issue on my credit report. Experian wants proof that its been paid? this is crazy!!.

Hi vvdd,

Welcome to this community :)

The first thing that you need to do is get a copy of your credit report. Check out from there under which company or collection agency is the judgment listed. contact the agency and set up a payment plan.

Please let me know the state you are in. Judgments expire too. So, you need to find out if the judgment has expired.

Thanks,

Aaron

The Judgment was in Tn. I do have a credit report. It is the Medical Center vs me listed on the credit report. Filed 2005. As stated I have been in contact with the medical center; they claim to have no info on the debt. My guess is they've written it off in taxes all ready.

Did the medical center deny info in writing? Send that info to the credit bureau and ask them how they can report this if you can't find any records. This is called a MOV letter
