I took out a loan from a credit union i was making my payments and then I hit rock bottom I didn't loose my job but I took a 12000 pay cut and struggled to make the payments the account was turned over to a collection agency and I did make some payment to the collection agency then I stop I reached out the Credit Union asking if they could get the account back. To no avail. Well Sunday I was served paper I haven't had any correspondence from the C.U. or the collection agency in over a year until now. What should I aspect to happen when I go to court.
You will probably have to come up with some type of doable payment arrangement for the collection agency since you have already made payments to them. By making the payments you have acknowledged that they own the debt and that you agree to that much.
Be ready to lay out your financial life and explain how much you can pay. You will probably end up with a judgement on you until it is paid.
