loan modification

We applied for a modification loan w/our original mortgage co. last nov. 09. We sent in all the paperwork they requested, tax forms, hardship letter, etc. In Dec. 09 we received a note from them wating more paperwork from my husband who is self-employed. We complied and faxed in the documents w/in the month time frame. We received a letter, yesterday, in March, 3 months later stating that we didn't send in all paperwork on time and the mortgage co. are announcing pre-foreclosure. So we called and explained that that we did everything and even have the fax receipts w/dates. So they took another interview and we have to start the process all over again.
My question is "Do I take their word and try all over again?" I want to and we need our house or does it sound like they're giving us the run around? No one from the mortgage co. even called to let us know anything; we thought they were just backed up w/customers and then we get a letter of denial for our application. Should we start preparing to pack our bags and look for a rental? Confused here when it seems so simple to us. they say they want to help us stay in our home. Tx for any help and advice. sincerely, cindy

If you want to keep your home then go ahead and give it another shot if they are willing. Really stinks to have to rent after owning and having a mortgage for something that would eventually be yours in the end. If you can afford it and they are willing to work it out then I would say at least give it one last shot if it is what you truly want.

Goodluck, hope you resolve this in your favor. Let us know if there is anything else that you need.

Hi happygardener,

Welcome to this community :)

You can try the loan modification once more. I agree with goodnatured. If you really want to keep your home, you can try the loan modification once more. For a sample loan modification letter you can refer to http://www.creditmagic.org/letters/loan-modification.html . However, you can modify the letter to your own situation.

Hope this helps.

Aaron
