Letter to Credit Bureau

Hello, I sent a certified letter to 4 CA to VALIDATE my debt. I gave them 30 days to respond or delete the account. Well.... here we are 30 days later and no response. One CA reported the debt to the credit bureau within those 30 days.

I was wondering if anybody could tell me what the next step is? I believe that I send all of my documentation to the Credit Bureau's and demand that the debt be deleted.

What can I do about the CA that reported the the Credit Bureau within the 30 days?

Does anybody have any suggestions on what I should include within my letter to the Credit Bureaus for deletion of the account?

I also sent goodwill letters to the OC to explain my situation and the accounts have not been deleted and/or I received a response saying that they are reporting the information accurately to the credit bureaus. Anything else I can do to get the accounts removed? They are all paid in full or paid after charge off.

According to federal law the CA must cease all collection activity until they respond. But they never have to actually respond.

Yes you can demand that the CRA delete this. It is called a MOV letter. did you disputer these items with the CRAs? the MOV asks how did you verify this info when they won't respond to me?

you should also know that proper response to the DV is for the CA to contact the OC and notify them to send you records of this debt. it is not unusual for this to take 6-8 weeks. BUt go ahead and send the MOV. this is sometimes called the 1-2 punch

Yes, I originally disputed these accounts online with the CRA's and they came back as verified-meets requirements. So, I figured I would do my own investigation. These accounts are about to expire within the next year or so, so I figured they wouldn't be able to validate them. Where can I find examples of the MOV letter?

Thanks!

if you look at my ehow articles, I wrote an essay about it. I tend to avoid sample letters but they are out there.

the structure is pretty simple. CRA, please explain how you verified this? I contacted the CA at the address you provided and I got nothing back. here is my green card receipt as proof. this must be deleted if the CA can't verify the information.

you may also consider complaining to your AG.

Awsome. Does it actually work? What do I do if they are not deleted? I was recentl denied credit for a mortgage due to these old accounts, so getting them deleted is impairative. Also, is there anything that I can do to get the accounts removed that are paid? The goodwill letters did not work.

I don't believe in goodwill letters. Many people have fought with me about this but I have found that what most people think are successful good will letters are actually 623 requests with a lot personal pleas and sympathetic stories.

any way a lot of things work. Guest, please start a new thread with your details. It helps me give better advice to keep the questions separate
