I had a credit card with Wells Fargo Bank and it was transferred to Calvary portfolios. I only made a few payments here and there. Then when it came to seven years on my credit report Calvary Portfolios transferred it to a different collection agency and it didn't show up as charged-off or anything. I know my rights and that I can dispute it, but the main question is do they need to contact me to let me know that they are transferring it to another debt collector.
Do the collectors need to notify you when they transfer
Calvary Portfolio wouldn't have to contact you, but the collection agency they sold it to should have sent you a letter or contacted you some other way.
