Hello everyone, I'm new to the forums!

My credit report shows multiple entries by different collection agencies for the same debt, my question is, is this legal and is there anything I may do to resolve this. I want to buy a house but with a credit score of 567 I would rather fix issues on my credit report first. Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the forums!!!
You can contact with the collection agency who is now holding your debt account. You may try to negotiate with them and set up a payment plan with them. If it seems difficult for you to negotiate yourself, then you may get help from a professional debt relief company.

Well, the debt is past the SOL with the OC. So wouldn't it be bad if I set up a payment plan with the CA? So how would I go about getting the CA's off of my credit report? The other thing I noticed is that my credit report shows under the OC the status is Paid, Closed. How did my information get to the CA and how are they allowed to report to the bureaus?

thanks for your help!

As the SOL period has expired, so the CA won’t be able to take any legal action against you. Usually negative items will remain on your credit report for 7 years from the date of your first default. So you will have to wait till 7 years to remove this item from your credit report.
