My car was charged off almost a year and half ago. I got a call today from a collection agency wanting the money. Am I still able to get a charge off paid in full on my creidit at this point

Yep….you will remain liable until you pay-off the charge-off account in full. But before payment you will have to make sure whether or not the collection agency holds your account. For that you can make a written request to them for a debt validation letter via certified mail with a return receipt request. If they give you a valid proof, then you can contact with them. You may make a written request to them to update your account status as "Paid charge off" after repaying the debt in full. You may also request them to remove the negative item from your credit report. But it depends on their discretion whether or not to accept your request.
