Hi all,
Quick question, I have a credit card from Citi that was charged off 2010 (I live in Florida). Nowhere have I seen the account being in "collections" when I recently ran my credit report with all 3 agencies. Fortunately I have regained employment and I am in position to pay for it.
Is it just a matter of time before a collection agency picks up the account and notifies the Credit Reporting Agencies or I still have time to settle with the Citi themselves?
One time, maybe 6 months I received a letter about a settlement with this account from a collection agency, sent a validation letter and never heard from them.

You need not to make any payments without any valid proof. Send the collection agency a cease and desist letter, if they don’t give any reply after receiving the debt validation request letter.
