Not sure if the collection agency played me or not but I am trying to buy a house and was told i have judgement for apartment I had a broken lease back in 2009. I paid them the balance owed and they said I will get a paid in full letter from the collection agency which i did but the letter was not signed by the office manager and did not mention a relase of judgement simply say I do not owe the apartment anything. I went to the court house to show them the letter they told me the letter did not mean anything to the court house i will need to have the collecton agency send me a notized letter and stating the judgement can be released. I called the collection agency back and they told me they never heard of the court house asking for such and that they will report to the credit breauer on March 1st to report debt is paid in full and for them to release judgement. Has anyone heard of this or did they give me true information?
