My credit report shows a former address for me on Miami. I have nevr lived there. When I tried to dispute it online on Equifax
it said it was an address from a creditor and was public info and would not take it off. I tried calling but can't get a human on the phone at Equifax, and the automated directory does not help me!! What can I do?
Put it in writing. Mail your dispute to Equifax. I would send in my address history, plus remind them that failure to correct/remove is a FCRA violation. Were you given the name (contact info is even better) for the supposed creditor? I believe you can also dispute this with that party, as well.
