OK, I have just spent some money and a LOT of time cleaning up my credit. Things were going well. Now I just find out that some unpaid back payroll taxes from a company I owned in 2003-2004 will cause the government to put a personal tax lien on me personally. This is fine. I owe the taxes... My worry is how will this affect my credit score?

Well it really could effect your credit if it was your company. I would call and try to make payment arrangements with them. If it is the government then it is serious and they will not go away. You may even find them attatching your wages or bank account. Get this matter taken care of as soon as possible. One thing they usually always do is attach income taxes if you go to get a return.
There is no SOL on government taxes so I would not let this follow you around forever ...get it over and done with.
