My exhusband is filling bankrupcy. We had a home together in which during the divorce he would not allow me to sell or remove my name from. It has not gone into foreclosure after almost a year. I wanted to do a deud in leu of foreclosure. However he refused. I feel I am getting the short end of the stick. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
What does your divorce decree mention about the house? If you have rights to sell the house you may go ahead and do that. I think you should refer your divorce decree and if that allows you to do a deed in lieu of foreclosure, then you can and by law too.
The divorce decree was by a judge's order so it states foreclosure but no specifics in the event he files bankrupcy. Thank you for your time Carol I appreciate the support
