I recently had a civil judgement placed on my credit report, what does this mean. I was supposedly overpaid by the Employment Development Department, I was supposed yo re-pay, but have been un-employed and un-able to re-pay, and never did dispute the allegations of overpayment.
Can I go to jail for a civil judgement ?
What should I do now ??

This means that the court has mandated you to pay a certain amount of money to your creditor. Having a civil judgment on your report may lead future lenders into refusing to lend you any money. A civil judgment can get you to make payments, or even get your wage garnished or get you to pay through any other way. It can stay on your report for 10 years and may also be renewed after this time span.
