Are you talking about what your score number should be when trying to buy a car? If so you can expect places offering credit to want a score near or in the 700 range. According to some finacial information from articles I read these days lenders prefer a score in the 700 or they do not like to extend credit. Lets see what others have to say on this issue.

The simple way solve this question,"How many credit points do I need to buy a car? "that's totally depends on which type of lender that you choose to apply for loan & as far as i know lender accepts only persons who has 700 or more FICO score.
You must have to show 700 or above credit score & lender will ask you for that while your loan application in under-process.

Thanks & Regards.
