Hi Ruth,

Yes, absolutely. There is a letter to help remove hard inquiries. Do not panic, this is a common problem with most of the credit account holders across the globe. You need to adamant about this as well quick. In answer to your last question I would say that, you need to dispute it with the CA or the creditors directly. I shall provide you a sample letter that you should find useful in order to get the hard inquiries removed from your credit report.

RE: Hard Inquiry

Dear: CA / the Creditor's Name

This is to inform you that while going through my credit report acquired from (the name of the Credit Reporting Agency), I found an unauthorized inquiry in it. I am furnishing the details of the inquiry.

Line Number: [Mention the Line Number]
Inquiry Made on: [Mention the Date of the Inquiry]
Inquiry Made by: [Mention the Name of the organization making the inquiry]

I am not aware of any association with your organization and hence, you are legally not entitled to make any inquiries about my credit. I would request you to contact the concerned CRA(Credit Reporting Agency) and the CB regarding the matter. I would like you to remove the inquiry along with my personal information from my credit profile with immediate effect, since it violates the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Please send me a letter confirming that you have kept my request.

However, if you have any document that can prove that your inquiry is valid, then please attach the document so that I can validate it.

Thanking you in anticipation,
Your Full Name

Do remember to send this letter through certified mail so that you can get a return receipt and generate a prompt response from the agency.

All the Best Smile
Sarah

I have tried using letters like the above posted but the creditors come back stating that it was with permissable purpose. I then used RemoveMyCreditInquiries.org and for only $15 they removed my inquiries within 45 days.

I found a guaranteed non profit group that removes, disputes inquiries for only $15 each... They also do delinquencies on credit cards too. removemycreditinquiries.org
