i had a duplicate entry on the experian credit report for a civil judgment that was satisfied; one listing stated it was satisfied and the duplicate didn't. so i disputed the entry and told them that it was satisfied adn that is a duplicate. so tricky them , they said they contacted the creditor and confirmed that it's not satisfied adn marked both entry (duplicate) as not satisfied.
so now it's worth than ever.
so i tried contacting experian and they said i have to contact the creditor and show proof of the payment; which i dont have (it has been many years)
what to do now; other 2 credit reports show the entry as satisfied. should i just let it go? or contact the creditor (capital one)
i am afraid they will take advantage and try to suie me again; granting that i have no proof of payment.
this is really fraustrating!

Hello question, Where was the civil judgement issued? You could go to the court house that would have this record and see if they have information showing that it was satisfied. Get any proof or records from them. You may also be able to ask them what else there is for you to do in this matter. I am sorry to hear that you do not have proof. You should always keep anything like this just in case of the above happening. Also how about callling your atty general for help on the issue. Hang in there because others may have more inofrmation on this.

i did contact the court by phone; and they stated that it was satisfied judgement; however i asked them if i could get a written proof and they said they don't do that; for me to go back to the creditor and get the proof; however i beleive the creditor is denying this and that's why experian marked it as unsatisfied. what to do in this case. the record falls off 09/10 in one year; and i am scared that they will try to suie me again and try to collect again. isn't this horrible.

not sure if disputing the experian entry caused a chain reaction; but i am assuming if they checked with the creditor then that's what will happen; i am being contacted by a new CA now via the phone; they keep calling but not leaving a message; i researched the number and it's SCI Sentry Credit Inc. at 425 257.9500
i don't know why they are contacting me because all my credits are off the credit report and past the statute of limitation; the only thing i disputed was the judgment placed in 2003; which is also past the statute of limitation. what to do
