How many times can a creditor pull my credit report in a period of 30 days? And what are the time limits for delinquency for a repossion? In other words how long do I have to be behind before they can repo a quad?

Hello Ruthie,
I am not comepletely sure but I believe a creditor can pull your report as often as they want. There may be a way to stop them but I don't know for sure. As for the repo it will stay on for the full seven years. We had one and thats how long it took to fall off. As for repoing a quad I would imagine that would depend on the creditor. Some let it go for a month and call to see what is going on. Some will reposses with in 60 days. Can you call and make arrangements with them?

Thanks fireyone, My X husband is trying to get a loan for the 1500 they say he owes for this suv to finish paying it off. he says he fell behind when the ins. he had paid they payments late. He went thru knee repair and replacement, heart catherization, and a double hernia operation all in one year. The loan company said they had no knowledge of this ins. but they recieved a full year of payments on the loan. Instead of putting it onto the principal like instructed, the kept it for another year. He said he was told by phone that it was paid off. I love thi website, is it ok to tell all my family and friends? You people make me feel hopeful. Your all great. As I learn I want to help too. Thanks Ruthie

Hi Ruthie,

Just an idea but you might want to get a copy of everything the insurance sent them as proof that they did receive money for the payments from them. So who told your husband it was paid off? If it was the insurance company? If so it may already be paid off and you owe them nothing else. Get copies.

I am in the process of finding out about that now. We have separated since this and I'm not sure where all the papers are, but I know they must be in storage. Then we will see what happens. Thanks alot. Ruthie
