I had changed my name due to divorce, but they put the judgement in my old name. Is this judgement legal then? I'm in Texas

Spazkat, Hello and welcome. Yes this is legal. They got the judgment in the name you applied for the card in. If you pull your credit report it will show what all credit you got and in what name. Really credit reports mainly go by your social security number. Once they got the judgment then they will be able to attach your wages and your bank accounts. You should probably try to resolve this debt as soon as you can.

Yes it is definately legal, if you don't want them dabbling in your accounts you probably should get a hold of them and try to work something out that will be suitable to both of you. Then you can pay it off and get rid of it, then you won't have to be worrying about it all the time.

A lot of us do not think that its actually our social security number they go by and not the name. Your number follows you every where. I just found out about a new site that has useful info. best credit yet. I was on there today and found some useful information.
