I am confused. I had disputed a few accounts on my report. As a result one account was deleted, late payments on three accounts was removed. However, my score is still 477. I have a revolving credit card balance of 2000 dollars. According to most of the people, if I bring down this balance, it may increase my score to 507 - 537. I have another account in collections, with a balance of 150.00 with no late. Have one other account with a balance of 450 and 500 revolving credit. On another the balance is 400 and 300 revolving. Some other accounts too are in collections.

How can I increase my score????

Hi Kitty,

First try to bring down the balance on the card with $ 2000. This is hurting your score the most. As for the collection account, what is the status of this account on your credit report? Did you do a "Pay for Delete" (PFD) on this account while paying the collection agency?

As for the account with balance of 400, try to bring that down within the available credit limit. In addition try to pay off those accounts which are in collection. Before starting to make payments on the collection accounts, request the collection agencies to agree to a PFD agreement. You will get a sample PFD letter with this community.

Thanks,

Aaron

I would focus on the negatives, by which i mean the collection accounts. Pay off your collections then worry about balances.
