Hi 6sigma,
A Pay for Deletion Letter is a legal agreement with your creditor or collection agency. It states that the debt accounts will be removed from your credit report, after you make the payment.
You should always send a Pay for Deletion Letter to the creditors or CAs, before making a payment. This is a proof, you can use to challenge them, in case your report is not corrected and updated, after paying off the debts. Pay for Deletion Letters are effective in most cases. _________________ Looking forward to a debt-free life. |

Hi 6sigma,
I agree with rachael. Pay for Deletion Letters are effective most of the time. It is always best to get an agreement in writing, from your creditors or collection agencies. You will find a sample Pay for Deletion letter in the Letters of Credit section. _________________ SCOTT

Hi Cynthia,
If you look on the side of this screen you will see a section that is listed Helpful Resources under it is a section that says letters of credit. If you look under that you will find a sample of a pay for delete letter. Hope this helps. |

Pay for Delete is a settlement agreement. If you follow all the steps and get this agreement in writing, then you can sue someone that violates it. _________________ CMRRR Templates

| Hi...my question is the debt on my credit report is to one company, where the debt originated, however there is a different collection agency collecting on it. Do both companies have to agree to the payment for deletion? Thank you for any advice! -Michael |

the original creditor has sold this to the collection agency and so there is very little that would influence them to remove a listing. However it is still helpful to get the CA off so do the pay for delete and then try and dispute the OC off _________________ CMRRR Templates
