Equifax and Experian still reporting repossession

I had given away my car to my brother, as I had got a new one. I thought that he would pay the remaining dues, which he did not. Thus, my car got repossessed. The car was in my name. However, I did not get any notice either before the repossession or even after the repo. Nor did I receive any notice on late payments. This trade line appears on my credit report as charge off and not as repo. I succeeded in disputing this with TransUnion. However, it still is there on my Equifax and Experian credit report. This is hurting my credit :( . So what can I do?

Hi Marylyn,

Can you tell me in what way did you dispute it with TransUnion? I believe, you can try by sending a dispute letter again to each of the credit bureaus, mentioning in the letter that your were never served notice of either the payments or the repossession.

Hope this works out.

Thanks,

Aaron
