If you want to go for a credit card with no company name or card number, you can go for virtual credit cards. These credit cards are mostly used to prevent fraud during online purchases. In virtual credit cards, the actual bank account number will be available to you and your bank only and is not available to the merchant. Whenever you want to make an online purchase with the virtual credit card, you can generate a new number and use it for the purchase. The new number can be used only once.
This sounds like what Paypal does.......if you pay with their CC/Debit card, the person you are paying doesn't even see your account number.............which is great for security reasons.
Wow I never relized that these virtual credit cards even existed. Are there fees associated with a virtual credit card? It sounds like a very safe way to make internet purchases and I am reall y interested in finding out about htis type of credit card. Is there a good website for this or can you tell me anything more about it?
As far as I know, virtual credit cards are accepted by most merchants. Here you receive a master or a VISA card by email and do not get a plastic card as in the case of ordinary credit cards. However Trucards offer plastic cards if you want. The credit limit on the card is the amount you load on the card and so it is a prepaid card. VISA or Master card prepaid card are issued under tie ups with US banks. However, there is a card activation fee associated with these cards.
