I have received a summons for a dept with CitiFinancial 1 month from today. I tried to make arrangement with them to make payments. They told me I could only make a payment of like over $600.00 and then that would only be good for one month. I told them I could only give around 30 a month for now. I am in a bad marriage and I am footing all the bills in the house including mortgage. They won't take that kind of payment they told me. But today they send me a statement for total owing but give me a amount paid area. I have tried to call the number on it but all I get is a audix call box which states it is full and can not leave a message. What can I do?

Hi shawntmac,

I think you should file a response to the summons. Appear in court on the due date. You should explain your situation to the court. Tell the court that you had offered a payment plan to CitiFinancial, but they did not accept it. Request the court to arrange for a payment structure that is affordable.

Best wishes to you.
