I currently have a credit card debt that is in collections. After paying collections how do I get the status of original creditor to be paid and not charged off?

Hi ms.agbayani

If your debt has been charged off by your creditor it means that some collection agency will not try to get in touch with you about collections. Well, what you can do in this case is that first contact the creditor and find out if the debt has been sold off. If not then ask to speak with a representative about settling an old account. Tell your creditor that you would want to settle the account and in return they must remove the charge-off from your report. Mostly creditors will consider doing so but it might be a little time consuming. Creditors will usually not remove a charge- off before you pay off the full amount. Keep a check on your report to find out if the charge off has been removed or not.
