So, after endless hours reading here and there.... I made the call to one of my credit cards. I've never been late with them BUT only 2 times. It shows on my credit report that I was 30 days late on March 08 then May 08. I respectfully asked to have that information removed....and THEY DID IT!! Yeay!

That is awesome, I bet you feel so empowered. I guess knowledge is power, I am so happy that things have worked out for you. I think people need to have some positive things like this posted, keeps the hopes of those who are trying to raise their scores.

Sadly after 2 charged off accounts, I am trying to take care of business.
My advise: Do make a deal with your creditors BEFORE they sell your account. Even if they "charged off" the account, you still have the chance to request for deletion of derogatory items. Hopefully you can get that as part of the deal!
Optimist, You are very right. You need to handle matters before they sell a debt. Your best chances in resolving the matter with the least amount of damage to your report is to deal with the original creditor. Also glad you are enjoying the site. You will find so much good information here. There is always something new to learn!
