I just disputed 16 negative items on my credit report. (Yes I have a few I'm dealing with). I managed to get 3 of them removed and several others are still being investigated. However, several more were just updated. When is a good time to submit a dispute again? Is online or a letter better?

There is no time frame as such for disputing any item in your report. You can dispute it any time.
Any it is better to send your dispute in writing as then you will have written proof of the same, which will not be available if you dispute it online.

Let me also advice you that you should send your letter through certified mail and request for a return receipt.
It will help you in future to prove the validity of your dispute.
