I was served papers in May of 2009 by the county sheriff saying that I was being sued in court for a debt that was paid by citibanks credit protector ins in 2005.
I disputed this info with the courthouse and sent everything by certified mail to there lawyers(citibank) and I have stamped papers from the prothonarys office to prove same. I even have a certified rcpt from there attys saying they recieved a copy as well. Also one from asset management. I again sent out another validation letter and again they recieved it on the 30th of Oct 2009. It was paid by ins. and charged off right after, disputed two times, investigated three times by three credit agencys and I still show this on my credit report. Now they say its a charge off that was done in Dec 2008. Please help everybody has different acct numbers, no one responds. Does anyone have fax numbers for all three credit reporting agency's so I can get this off my report???? Personally I will never do business again with Citibank. They never honor there own credit ins. payments and are trying to collect twice. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Ruthie

I talked to the federal trade commission yesterday. I have been dealing with disputing a listing on my report for two months that was reported wrong with Equifax and I sent in legal papers to support what I was disputing was true and each time it would come back as saying the creditor say's it is reported correctly so they wouldn't change it. So when I talked to the lady at the Federal Trades Commission yesterday she told me to send all my legal papers and dispute it with the creditor it could be that they never received the papers and are going by what they have on file. I know I should have mailed the papers and would have if my phone call to the creditor didn't work. So I called them yesterday and told them I had been disputing this for two months and for some reason they were refusing to correct it. He said I had made a payment on it since I filed bankruptcy and that made it a charge off. And I told him that was a lye and that was reported wrong as well. So I told him I had talked to the Federal Trades Commission and they told me to dispute it with you one more time and that he had 15 days to correct it and if he didn't to call them back. He put me on hold and called Equifax and corrected it and come back on the phone and told me he did. I got an alert from equifax this morning stated a change had been made. You may want to try these steps to see if it will work for you. Let me know.

Thankyou, I did try this and they told me to get a lawyer. I guess the next step is to send everything into the Atty. Generals office. The trouble with that is tyhat I am homebound and I have to wait and see if someone can take it for me. Thanks anyway, if I have fax numbers thren I can fax these proofs to them. Ruthie

I would just call and tell them you have papers to fax them and get their fax number.

Thankyou, I was able to google them and I did fax them to them but they insist I send the hard copies because they cant read everything. So I am sending a letter to them asking them to verify there investigation methods as well. I did manage to get two things deleted from my report with the validation letters. I am so very grateful to everyone on this website. I will stay and I hope to learn and help alot of other people as well. Credit repair people costs so much and with your help I'm able to do the same thing for free. Thankyou, Thankyou , Thankyou. Ruthie
