1. I have a Capital One judgment for $895.76 from March 2008. I'd like to write a "pay for delete" letter offering $500 if they remove it from my CR. Is this crazy or has it been done before?
2. I also have a judgment from Chase for $5620.89. I'd like to offer them $3000 (the original debt) but if judgments are never settled, I'll just have to wait until 2013 to make payment arrangements. I am on unemployment and I'm preparing to go back to school. My thought is that they may be willing to settle if they know I won't have any garnishable wages for at least 3 more years. Thoughts?
It is not crazy but you don't have a lot of leverage. I would hold out for a very clear letter from Crap1. And they are jerks. the point of a judgment is that it will be there waiting for your garnish able wages in 3 years
the big problem is that these are large banks that don't need your money.
PS Crap1 and Chase sued? not CA's representing them?
