credit scores

I have worked hard to improve my credit score. Last month I ran a 3 credit score from TransUnion. The scores were 543 EQ, 560 EX & 635 TU. The next day I ran my fico scores from the Fair Isaac's website. They were 601 EQ, 661 EX, & 661 TU. Which set of scores would be the one's lenders use? I am not looking to buy a car or home in the near future, but I would like a better rate on a credit card. I have $2000 in the bank now, so, I am not looking for credit just to have it. I have a paid judgement on my report from 2003. Would the chance of getting a major credit card be zero? If so, I would not bother applying. I don't want to a lot of inquiries on my credit report.

Hi Maryq,

Most of the lenders check all 3 scores and use a median for evaluation of any loan application. And about the paid judgment you had two years back, it won't have that significant affect on your borrowing needs.
