Credit card repayment plan

Hi,

Here's my situation - I am on disability and can only work part time in which I make less than half of what my prior income was. I do not know when I'll be able to return to work full time.

In the past year and a half I've racked up a lot of credit card debt but have been making some progress paying it down. I called some of the card companies and one of the companies said that they do have a repayment plan for 1 year that they offered which I could do.

They want $750 now and then $250 a month. I can afford the $250 per month but no way can I pay the $750 now. The rep I talked with on the phone would not budge on that. Should I call back and try to get a manager or something.

Thanks!

Hi Eych,

I think you can try to talk to another representative or the manager and explain the financial problem you are going through. In the meantime you can try saving money (if possible) so that you can give atleast some of it now if they ask you to.

Whatever you agree to, remember to get the agreement in writing.

Thanks,

Aaron

Hi Eych,

Yes, you should talk to the manager of the credit card company or a person with the authority to consider your request. You should clearly explain the financial problem you are going through.

Hope this helps.

Thanks
