i had a 30 day late on an auto loan back on Jan 2009. just paid off the loan in june 2012 and experian shows it as paid/closed. ive tried disputing it online thru experian with no luck about 2 years ago because the lender responded stating that the report was accurate.

whats the best way of trying to get this removed? this is the only negative item on my credit report.

Usually negative items remain on your credit report for 7 years from the date of your first default. After 7 years it will automatically be removed from your credit report. So you will have to wait till 7 years to remove that item from your credit report.
