We have national credit adjusters contacting us asking for payment on payday loans. Should I send a cease and desist or ask for a debt validation? I'm in NY so payday loans are illegal.

Yes, send them a cease and desist letter, if you the loan is not yours. Or else, you may ask them to reply to your debt validation letter, if you are doubtful whether or not you owe them any money.

Welcome to the forums!!!
Payday lending is prohibited in NY. So all lenders in this state are illegal. That’s why the contract is also invalid and void. You should send them a Cease and Desist letter in writing via certified mail with a return receipt request. After that if they are still trying to contact you, file a complaint against them to the SAG or FTC.
