My husband and I received a loan from VIP Cash in the amount of $700. When the approached my husband with the loan, I told him that I wasn't sure about it. After reading post in this forum, I now know they are illegal in CA and owe us a refund of $1,690. Once we go to the bank to close our account, is there anyway our bank can help us recoup some of the money owed? Is is too late to dispute any of the charges?

VIP Cash is an illegal lender all over the state of US. You owe them only the principal balance. Ask them for the refund, as you have already overpaid them. Close down your old bank account and open a new one. In this situation your bank can’t help you to get your money back. This is because it fully depends on your lenders discretion whether or not they will return back your money.
