Barely covers our bills

I live in North Carolina and lost my job last November. The only income is my husband's SS which is direct deposited, and which barely covers our bills. We had to take out 2 payday loans, one with United Cash Loans, the other with Ameriloan. Are these loans legal in NC, and what can we do to get them paid without all the outrageous fees and interest?

Payday lending is prohibited in North Carolina. That means all lenders in your state are illegal. You owe them nothing more than the principal balance. No interest, no fees. Simply close down your old bank account and open a new one to stop debiting money from your account. Don’t worry, illegal lenders can’t do anything.

As payday lending is prohibited in NC, you will have to pay back only the principal and no other interest payments will have to be made.
