My ex boyfriend moved out and took the Ninja motorcycle. it is in both of our names and is paid in full. he took the title and wont let me sign it so he can get a new title in just his name. How do I get him to let me sign the title and have him get a new title? I am carrying the insurance on it, and since we aren't together anymore, I really want to be completely done with him. If I drop the insurance and he doesn't pick it up, my ins told me that I could be sued. Please help!!

Since the motorcycle is in both of you and your boyfriend’s name, so you are also equally responsible for this debt. If you don’t make the insurance payment, then the insurance company can sue you for nonpayment. It would be better for you to contact with the insurance company and consult with them regarding this issue.

I did consult with my insurance company. They will not sue me for nonpayment, as I want to cancel the insurance policy on the motorcycle. The insurance just said that if my name stays on the title and he doesn't pick up the insurance, then I too would be responsible for any accidents. So, I want to get my name off of the title. He is making it impossible for me to sign it (like he can't find it, etc). Once I sign it, then I can cancel the insurance on it and not have any kind of responsibility, per my insurance company. How do I get him to let me sign it? Do I need to take him to small claims court? or ??? Thank you for your help!!

That would help I think, for there's no other simple way out.
