I just received a call from a law office. They are trying to collect from a payday loan from 2008. The company was US Fast Cash Payday Loans. They said the amount that I owe is $1,506.43. I only borrowed $400.00. I was told if I did not pay they will start proceeding and could go to jail for Fraud. She said they would file an ADR? I am in Florida. I have three kids and can not go to jail. Can they really arrest me?

Hi,

Payday lending is legal in Florida. However, they cannot take you to jail because debt is civil and not criminal. So, there's nothing to panic. They are legal and you actually need to pay off the loan. There rates are exorbitant and thus no doubt the debt amount to be paid is so large.

us fast cash is tribal and therefore illegal.marvel know of what you speak of please.the loan is illegal meaning the OP should report this bottomfeeder to their local police and then ignore future calls.btw marvel.just because pdl's are legal doesn't mean the lender is legal.again know of what you speak before posting m'kay?

SOL on a legal debt in FL is 4yrs.so they can't even sue on it if they could.

When the SOL on the debt is over, then you shouldn't make any payments since doing so will restart SOL all over again and that increases your risk of getting sued by the creditors or debt collectors.

US Fast Cash is an illegal lender. You owe them only the principal balance. Close down your old bank account and open a new one to stop debiting money from your account.

I didn't get anywhere for sure that US Fast cash is illegal in Florida, so Paul from next time speak in a decent manner, rather than simply accusing anybody over the Internet or a public forum. Better share your own knowledge rather than using such awful words.
