My wife and I are 60 years old and both of us lost our jobs 2 years ago .We coiuldn't pay our Credit card billls .Now we have to go to a hearing .What do you think will happen .This is new to us and we are pretty scared.Thank you .

Welcome to the forums!!!
The court can issue an order against you. If the credit card company wins the case, then they can place a lien on your bank account or property.

Could they take your .Checking account .If so how could you pay your bills ? Also cabn then take your tax refund check .Can they take your Social Seturity check ? That I will be getting in a few months .Thanks again .

Hi Pat….
Yeah they can garnish your checking account but they can’t garnish your social security benefit. This is because social security benefit is exempted from garnishment.
