My husband had a judgment against him for a credit card debt. We live in Florida. The credit card company just reopened the case to garnish our joint bank account. He is the only one on the credit card, but our only checking account is in both of our names. He is also the sole provider for our family. What can we do?

Good Evening:

I am 21 who made very poor financial choices when I was 18 and 19 due to many issues. Not that I have somewhat grown up and tackled more of life I am paying these debts off slowly but surely.

My questions are. I have paid off many of my debts and show up as 'paid;collections' on my credit report, and two of them are the same debt with identical account number, and one shows 'paid' while the other shows 'closed;written off'. Can I remove one or both of these from my report since they are the same account? If so, how do I go about doing that?

If you can afford to pay the full debt amount, then do it asap. Collection account will be treated as a negative item on your credit report. It will remain on your credit report for 7 years from the date of your first default. Negative item will definitely hurt your credit score, but it’s not possible to say by how much point your credit score will drop.
