Since after receiving summons to try to work out a settlement.

It is all rediculous.....credit card..chgs were 450.00..paid in 869.00 and the res..and late chgs.totaling..2800.00.
Received sivil summons...called and tried to work out settlement...I am out of work...and said 1600.00 within 30 days.....or they would accept 50.00/mo on the 2800.00....with a judgement.
What can I do???? I guess I made a mistake calling...I was just trying to do the right thing.

Can someone interpret the paragraph below please?

"If, when the cause of action accrues against a person, he is out of the State, the action may be commenced within the term herein limited, after his return to the State, and if, after the cause of action accrues, he departs from the State, the time of his absence is not part of the time limited for the commencement of the action."

I need my name off this car loan!

I am a co-signer along with my younger brother to get him a car. He keeps getting tickets and is a month behind on his car payment. I need to get my name off this loan. He is probably 1 year and a half from paying this car off. He doesn't have any credit besides this car. Is there a way to get my name off? Also is there any kind of places for him to apply for a loan for someone like him that doesn't have any credit?

A letter to request validation on a claim paid

Hi,

I just recently applied for a mortgage and realize that I had a default judgment that was placed in 2006 for a credit card(i guess). The collection agency have yet to say what the collection for other than a credit card. I had to pay $2000.00 because it was the only way for me to get the loan. Now, that the judgement has been released, what steps do you suggest for me. I really what to determine exactly what the collection was for. Is there a letter I can right to have them to validate the claim that was paid?

Applying for mortgage with 30 day late

So I have been going through the steps to get a mortgage. Everything is OK so far. My middle credit score is 650. The mortgage broker said to go ahead with the purchase agreement but isn't 100% sure the underwriter will approve the loan. The problem shes saying may disqualify me is a student loan that has a 30 day late. It was 1 payment though it paid 3 different loans and therefore gave me 3- 30 day late's. she is going to try and explain the situation to them but is unsure if it will pass. I've tried disputing it and its not finished yet though I think it will stay on my record.

I have a few accounts that unfortunately have gone to collections before I was able to re-pay the balances. Now that the balances are paid in full, Can I negotiate re-opening any of them? or is it just a lost cause until the items are removed from my report in the scheduled 7 yrs.
