I received a letter from GC services trying to collect on an item ( I think was some sort of traffic ticket) from 10 years ago. It seems they've updated the date as if it were from this year. But one of their employees slipped and told me I didnt have to pay it while I was paying for a more recent ticket. is there a statute of limitations?
and considering they've updated and falsified the original information without supplying original documents, is that a violation of the fair credit act? I need to respond within a few days> How should i respond? Thanks

As far as I know there is no SOL that applies to a traffic ticket. But according to what you have said there is some discrepancy in the date. You could dispute the debt if you think you don't own it.
