Subject: Removing old address

Posted on Mon Jul 03, 2006 5:52 am

I am having a horrible credit report and have just started to repair it. I recently received hard copy of credit reports and I find my old address appears 7 times. I happen to reside at the old address 3 years ago before moving on to my new address. Now I need to remove the old address. What shall I do to remove the old address from my credit report?

Please suggest.

I was also worried about a similar problem a couple of months back when I had my 'incorrect' address listed on my TransUnion report. What I did was I called them up and I asked them to remove the erroneous info. In about a weeks time it was removed!

Hi Polly,

Welcome to Credit Magic community.

Correcting/removing incorrect information from your credit report is a good practice and everyone should try this. To remove an old address you need to call them up and ask them to remove your old address. Also mention that you are not residing at that address for a quite a while now.

You can find the phone numbers of the credit bureaus listed at http://www.creditmagic.org/creditbureauinfo.html

Color me ignorant, but do old addresses affect your credit rating too?
