Several months ago, I got a payday loan through Advance America for $600. I had to re-finance seven times (which I was told was the maximum amount), paying over $800 in interest and fees alone. I asked several times for an extended payment plan (EPP), but was told they don't have to give me one until after I default. I defaulted last month, but have not arranged the EPP. After doing some research, I am finding several articles that say refinancing is not allowed in the state of Texas. In addition, granting an EPP is required. If that be the case, then her acts were illegal.

Already paid back what I borrowed

I am in Texas and have some questions in regard to three payday loans that I have. Two are local and I have already paid back what I borrowed plus several hundred dollars extra. The third is an internet loan that I want to pay back...but the first payment was already attempted to be debited from my account today but there were no funds available, as I opened a new account and changed my direct deposit to ensure that I could pay my rent. I want to pay back the internet loan people on payments that I can afford...I just need to know how to proceed from here.

I have four payday loans out, in various stages of repayment. However, the amount coming out of my check each pay period is a little more than half of my check which doesn't leave me enough money to pay the other bills. I live in New York State and just found out that Payday loans are prohibited in New York.
